Six things,done properly,usually together.
Most projects use three or four of these at once — a house is rarely only a house, and a landscape is never only planting.
Fees are fixed once the brief is real. Nothing here is priced by the square metre.
Architecture
New buildings, from a 62 m² apartment to an 11,400 m² workplace.
Full architectural service from feasibility through to completion: brief, concept, planning, technical design, tender and site. A director leads throughout, and the person who drew the detail is the person who inspects it.
We take a small number of new-build projects each year so that the ones we do take can be given the time they need.
What it includes
- Feasibility and site appraisal
- Planning and consents
- Technical design and specification
- Tender and contractor selection
- Construction inspection to completion

Interior architecture
The building read from the inside out — structure, light, surface and the furniture that has to live with them.
We treat interiors as architecture rather than decoration: walls that are load, thresholds that carry services, joinery drawn at 1:5 and made by people we know.
Often this is our whole appointment, particularly in listed buildings where the only thing you are allowed to change is what is inside.
What it includes
- Spatial planning and section
- Bespoke joinery and stone
- Lighting design
- Material and finishes schedule
- Furniture selection and commissioning
Master planning
Frameworks for sites too big or too slow to be designed all at once.
Street patterns, plot sizes, heights, uses and — most importantly — what stays. We write plans that a different architect can build in fifteen years' time without losing the point.
Every masterplan we produce is tested with physical massing models, because a plan drawing hides everything a section reveals.
What it includes
- Site and movement analysis
- Density and massing studies
- Phasing strategy
- Design codes and plot briefs
- Stakeholder and public consultation

Recent work

Landscape
Ground, water and planting, designed at the same time as the building rather than after it.
Half of what a building does is done outside it. We run landscape in-house so that levels, drainage and planting are settled while they can still change the plan.
Our default is to work with what already grows on site, and to design for the year the irrigation gets switched off.
What it includes
- Ground modelling and levels
- Water strategy and SuDS
- Planting design
- Hard landscape and paving
- Establishment and maintenance plans
Recent work
Adaptive reuse
Buildings that already exist, given a second life that does not erase the first.
Retrofit is now the majority of our workload. We start with a structural and carbon appraisal, then argue for the smallest intervention that makes the building useful for another century.
Where new work is needed we make it legible as new — bolted, reversible, and different enough that the story stays readable.
What it includes
- Condition and structural appraisal
- Embodied carbon assessment
- Heritage consent and negotiation
- Insertion and servicing strategy
- Repair specification and trades

Design consultation
A short, paid, honest appointment for people who are not yet sure what they have.
Two to six weeks. We look at the site, test what it can take, and give you a written appraisal, a set of options and a realistic cost and programme range.
About a third of these become projects. The rest end with us telling someone that what they want is not the right thing to build, which is a perfectly good outcome.
What it includes
- Site visit and measured appraisal
- Planning risk review
- Two to three tested options
- Order-of-cost and programme
- Written report you can take elsewhere
Recent work
Four stepsto an appointment.
- A
Conversation
A call and, if we can, a walk around the site. No charge, no proposal document.
- B
Appraisal
Two to six weeks, fixed fee. You end up with something useful whether or not you continue.
- C
Appointment
Fee fixed against a real brief and a real budget. Stage payments, no percentage surprises.
- D
Through to site
The same director from first sketch to final certificate. We do not hand projects on.
