About Azurea
We believe the best
journeys begin where
the road ends.
Our story
Three boats and a telephone
Azurea began in 2007 with three yachts on the Quai Antoine 1er and a founder who had spent eleven years as a captain and was tired of watching brokers sell weeks they had never been on.
The company has grown to forty-two yachts across twenty-seven cruising grounds, but the rule has not changed: nobody sells a charter they have not personally been aboard for, and nobody writes an itinerary without the captain in the room.
We are small enough that the person who answers your first email is the person who meets you on the quay. That is a deliberate limit on how large we let this get.

Port Hercule, Monaco — the charter base since 2007.
Our philosophy
Fewer charters, better ones
- We will talk you out of things
- A larger yacht, a longer route, a week in August. If it will make your charter worse we will say so before you pay for it.
- The captain writes the route
- Not the office. The person who has to anchor there decides where you anchor.
- Three boats, not thirty
- A shortlist you can hold in your head, each with a reason it might be wrong for you.
- One point of contact
- The same person from first email to disembarkation, including at 23:00 on the Saturday.

Sustainability
The sea is the product
We are a charter company, not an environmental organisation. These are operating practices rather than claims.
- Responsible cruising
- Anchoring on sand rather than seagrass, and carrying the current posidonia charts for the Balearics and Sardinia.
- Marine conservation
- A share of every charter goes to the marine parks we cruise in — the Maddalena, Sainte Anne and Gökova among them.
- Single-use plastics
- Watermakers and glass aboard every managed yacht. No plastic bottles in guest areas.
- Sustainable provisioning
- Local markets rather than air freight, and no species on the IUCN red list in any galley we run.
- Eco-conscious itineraries
- Routes planned to reduce engine hours — often the same routes that make a better week.
- Local communities
- Crew, provisioning and shore services hired locally wherever the season allows it.
- Ocean protection
- Crew trained in reef-safe practice, and no anchoring inside protected zones under any circumstances.
Why charter with us
In their words
“Every detail felt effortless. We simply stepped aboard and let the Mediterranean unfold.”
“We had asked for a quiet week. On the fourth day the captain moved us at six in the morning so we would wake up somewhere with nobody else in it.”
“Three generations, eight opinions, one boat. Nobody argued once, which I attribute entirely to the crew.”
“I have chartered for eleven years and this is the first time the itinerary I was sent looked like something a person had thought about.”
“The diving was the reason we booked. The food is the reason we rebooked.”
“They talked us out of a bigger yacht and into a better week. I did not expect that from a broker.”
