The Bay of Kotor runs twenty miles inland between mountains that fall straight into the water. Nowhere else in the Med looks like it.
Overview
The Boka is not a fjord — it is a drowned river canyon — but it behaves like one. The mountains stand 1,700 metres above a bay that is flat almost every morning.
Porto Montenegro at Tivat has changed the coast: full superyacht facilities, a customs office that works, and a runway twenty minutes away.
A week here usually combines the bay with the open coast south to Budva and Sveti Stefan.
