Fourteen people, maximum
Every class is capped so a coach can actually see you. Book at 05:45 or 21:00 and it makes no difference.
IRONHAUS — Shoreditch, London E2 8HD
EST. 2009 Shoreditch · Canary Wharf · Chelsea
A members-only athletic club built around coached strength, measured conditioning and recovery that counts as training. Fourteen people per class. Never a queue for the rack.
01Featured programmes
Pick one or move between all six — your membership covers the lot, and your programme tells you which to be in this week.

Barbell mechanics, progressive overload, coached to the rep.

Zone-based engine work you can actually hold a conversation in.

Mixed-modal work, scaled honestly, judged properly.

Short, precise, brutal. Forty minutes and you are done.

The session that keeps the other four available to you.

Hypertrophy, measured. Mirrors optional, tracking is not.
02Why IRONHAUS
None of them are the towels. Though the towels are very good.
Every class is capped so a coach can actually see you. Book at 05:45 or 21:00 and it makes no difference.
Written, not verbal. Assessment on day one, review every six weeks, and it follows you between clubs in the app.
Zone testing, DEXA scans and a training log that fills itself in. If we cannot measure it we will not claim it.
Average tenure is six years and every coach is degree-qualified or chartered. Nobody here is between careers.
Sauna, contrast bathing, compression and physiotherapy on the same floor as the weights, on the same membership.
05:30 to 23:00 on weekdays, and 24 hours for VIP members. The 06:15 combat class is the busiest slot we run.

03How it works
Every member goes through the same three stages, whether you are chasing a first pull-up or a fourth national title.
01
Ninety minutes. Movement screen, strength benchmarks, a zone test and an honest conversation about your week.
02
Written the same day and in your app before you leave. Reviewed every six weeks, adjusted whenever it needs to be.
03
Logged automatically from the platforms and machines. DEXA and zone re-tests quarterly, so the plan answers to data.
04The coaching floor
Every one of them is degree-qualified or chartered, and every one is on the floor rather than in an office.

05The combat room
Dmitri has been in the corner for eighteen years and he is not in a hurry. Learn to move first and the rest arrives on its own.
06Membership
Quarterly saves eight per cent, annual saves seventeen and waives the onboarding fee. Every tier includes the assessment and a written programme.

Strength · coached by Marcus Vale
Michael arrived after a health check he described as 'the polite version of a warning'. We started with three sessions a week, none of them longer than forty-five minutes, and a rule that he was not allowed to add weight until his positions held. Twelve months later he pulls 200 kg and his cardiologist has stopped writing to him.

08In their words
Six reviews pulled from our last member survey. We publish the middling ones too — they are on the FAQ.

Shot across Shoreditch, Canary Wharf and Chelsea over one week in June.

BMI, energy needs, macros and hydration. Rough guides, freely given — the real version happens with a coach and a DEXA scan.
General information only, not medical advice. Speak to a GP before starting a new programme if you have any doubt.

Ninety minutes with Sofia and a sleep physiologist on what actually moves recovery. Includes a contrast session afterwards.

No listicles, no supplements to sell. Just what our coaches actually tell members.

Six ways to make a session harder that have nothing to do with the number on the bar — and when each one is the right lever to pull.

The anabolic window is wider than the supplement industry would like. Here is what actually moves the needle.

Most people train too hard to go easy and too easy to go hard. The fix is a heart-rate strap and some patience.
14Questions
The fourteen we field most often are on the FAQ page. Here are the six that come up in every tour.
There is a one-off £49 onboarding fee that covers your assessment, your first written programme and your app account. Annual members do not pay it. We do not charge an admin fee, a towel fee or a card fee.
Yes. A £35 day pass gets you full access to any club, any hour, including classes and the recovery suite. If you join within fourteen days we take the £35 off your first month.
Monthly memberships cancel in the app with one month's notice — no phone call, no retention script. Quarterly and annual plans run to the end of the term you paid for, and you can freeze instead if you would rather keep your join rate.
Up to three months in any twelve, at £15 a month. Freezing holds your rate, your locker and your class history. Medical freezes are free with a GP note and have no limit.
It is exactly the right place, and about a third of our intake is in the same position. Everybody starts with the same assessment and a programme written for where they actually are. The Physique class is machine-led specifically so you can build a base before touching a bar.
Ninety minutes with a coach. Movement screen, a few strength benchmarks, a zone test on the bike or treadmill, and a conversation about what you want and how many hours a week you honestly have. You leave with a written programme in the app before you go home.
15Recognition
We are an independent club with no group behind us, which makes these harder to win and better to have.
