The things roasters ask us most, from choosing a model to warranty and installation. Can't find it? The contact page reaches a real engineer.
As a rule of thumb: under 50 kg a week points to an S-series specialty roaster, 50–250 kg to a C-series commercial machine, and beyond that to the i-series. But volume is only half the story — site power, ventilation and how many profiles you run all matter. Send us your numbers on the contact page and an engineer will recommend a specific model.
Every C- and i-series machine ships with coffee, cocoa and nut programs built in, and the S-series offers cocoa as an option. Because airflow and drum speed are controlled independently, you can switch materials by loading a different recipe — no hardware changes required.
If your grid is clean or you roast inside city emissions limits, our electric thermal core gives you zero on-site emissions with development time that matches gas. If you have abundant gas and want the lowest running cost at large volume, a modulating gas burner with heat recovery is hard to beat. We help you model both.
Kaldera's closed-loop control holds your roast curve to within ±0.5°C, batch after batch. Save a profile once and the machine reproduces it identically — across shifts, seasons and operators. That repeatability is the single thing customers mention most.
Typical lead time is 10–14 weeks from order. Installation is handled by a Kaldera engineer or certified partner, including commissioning, calibration and operator training. We do not consider a machine delivered until you have run a successful roast on it.
Every roaster carries a 3-year mechanical warranty and a 20-year design service life. Kaldera machines are repairable by design — cast components, standard fasteners and open documentation — and we support two-decade-old machines still on the floor today.
Yes. We host cupping-and-roasting days at the Bend workshop, and we can often arrange a visit to a nearby roastery running the model you are considering. Ask us on the contact page and we will set it up.
We ship to over 120 countries, with voltage, frequency and certification configured for your region. Freight, customs guidance and local commissioning partners are all part of the quote.
