You are welcome in either, with or without a project. Thursday afternoons are critique — the most useful time to visit.

When we are in
09:00–18:00 local, Monday to Friday. Critique is 14:00 on Thursdays in both studios and visitors are genuinely welcome.
Step-free
London is step-free throughout with an accessible WC. Lisbon has four steps at the entrance — tell us in advance and we will meet you elsewhere.
Careers
We hire once a year, and publish the salary.
There is no open role right now. When there is, it will be listed here with the band, the brief and the actual interview process — which is two conversations and one paid day of work.
Speculative applications are read, not filed. If you send one, send three pieces of work and a paragraph about the one that went wrong. That paragraph is the part we read twice.
Before you write
Three quick ones.
What is happening, what you have already tried, and what would count as this being fixed. That is more useful than a deliverable list, because the deliverable is usually the thing we would want to question.
Yes, send it over — ours is mutual and two pages if you would rather use it. We do not need commercial detail to have a first conversation, so do not wait on paperwork to say hello.
You get a reply saying so within a day, with a reason, and usually two other studios who would do it better. We turn down about a third of enquiries and would rather do it quickly than politely string it out.
The legal bit
Short, because it can be.
Privacy note
If you send an enquiry we keep your name, email, company and message so we can reply and, if we work together, so we have a record of how the engagement started. That is the whole purpose.
- No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no cookie banner — because there are no cookies to consent to.
- Enquiries are held for 24 months, then deleted. Newsletter addresses are held until you unsubscribe.
- We do not sell, rent or share data with anyone outside the studio.
- Ask us for a copy or a deletion at hello@heliograph.studio and it is done within five working days.
Terms, in brief
The full agreement is two pages and you get it with any proposal. These are the parts people ask about first.
- Intellectual property in the work transfers to you on final payment, with no ongoing licence.
- Thirty days’ notice either way, no exit fee, and everything produced to that point is yours.
- Invoices are issued on the first working day of the month and payable within fourteen days.
- We ask for the right to show the work publicly, and will hold it back for as long as you need.
